Sophie C Hewitt
I am a graduate of Bachelor of Environmental Management and Science (Honours) at UNSW, Sydney. I am currently a PhD candidate at UNSW investigating the restoration trajectories of the Macquarie Marshes Ramsar listed wetland. My research aims to explore how to optimise the utility of environmental flows by investigating the ecological interactions between flow/inundation and key ecological assets within the Macquarie Marshes such as waterbirds and riverine eucalypts.
I also work as an Environmental Scientist for NSW DCCEEW on the Water and Wetlands team where I assist in the collection and analysis of data relating to wetland flora and fauna within the Murray-Darling Basin. My research primarily focuses on wetland ecology, restoration and environmental flow management.
