Joe Cairns
Joe Cairns is an Ecohydrologist at the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) and a PhD candidate at the University of New South Wales. Joe’s doctoral research investigates the hydrology and ecosystem services of upland peat swamps in New South Wales, aiming to improve the protection of these vital habitats. At NSW DCCEEW, he contributes to projects focused on developing water-sharing strategies to benefit water-dependent ecosystems, blending research insights with practical applications in water management to tackle environmental challenges across NSW.
