Kris Kleeman
I'm an aquatic ecologist with over 20 years' experience in the Murray-Darling Basin, which means I've spent much of my career analysing rivers and explaining why ecosystems rarely read the management plan. Along the way I've delivered a range of scientific investigation projects, including future hydroclimate analyses, freshwater fish population monitoring, long-term ecological trend assessments and evaluations of environmental water delivery efficiency, to name a few.
Most recently, I've been dabbling in climate science and had the privilege of project managing the Murray-Darling Basin Sustainable Yields Project, helping to tackle the small challenge of understanding how a changing climate might influence future water availability across the Basin.
When I'm not trying to work out what aquatic ecosystems are actually doing, or convincing people that ecological data collection is genuinely cool and exciting, you'll usually find me hurtling down mountain bike trails and then undertaking highly rigorous quality assurance testing of locally fermented beverages.
